What it does
Seedance is a text-to-video and image-to-video generation model built by ByteDance. The underlying Seedance 1.0 model, released 2025-06-11, produces clips at 480p, 720p, or 1080p, at 24 fps, from 2 to 12 seconds long, in MP4, and natively supports multi-shot narrative sequences. The site at seedance.tv is an independent access portal operated by ASTROINSPIRE LTD, not by ByteDance.
Pricing
Pricing below is the portal's own, checked 2026-07-30 on seedance.tv, and is credit-based: Mini at $28 per month (400 credits), Standard at $56 per month (1,600 credits), and Plus at $112 per month (4,800 credits). These are the portal's discounted rates, separate from any first-party ByteDance API pricing.
Limits that bite
Because seedance.tv is a third-party portal rather than ByteDance, its credit terms and account ownership are governed by the portal, not the model maker. Free-tier terms were not disclosed on the portal's pricing page. The model documents a maximum clip length of 12 seconds and a ceiling of 1080p.
How it compares
ByteDance's technical report ranks Seedance 1.0 first on the Artificial Analysis text-to-video and image-to-video leaderboards, above Google Veo 3 and Kling 2.0 — though that benchmark muted Veo 3's audio, and Veo 3 generates native sound that Seedance does not.
Good fit / poor fit
The product linked from this page is the seedance.tv portal, not ByteDance: accounts, billing, and support run through the third-party operator ASTROINSPIRE LTD, which resells access to ByteDance's model. A good fit for short, cinematic, multi-shot clips where a top-ranked model matters and buying through a reseller is acceptable. A poor fit for buyers who want first-party ByteDance billing, or clips longer than 12 seconds.
